He never imagined that his humble storefront would one day become one of the largest and most trusted sources for Halal meat across Quebec. For more than two decades, Mr. Ahmedy never spent any money on marketing or advertising, instead it was only the word of mouth that helped his business thrive.

Mr. Ahmedy eventually found work in poultry processing where he eventually realized an opportunity to start his own business, whom he named after the lifeline of his homeland--the nile river. He started distributing Halal chicken to stores and restaurants using only the trunk of his car. He eventually opened a 800 sq. feet store where his business would remain for some time before he would open a 10 000 sq. feet facility.

     In addition for it's reputation, Nile Meat and Poultry is unique as it offers a full range of quality Halal products, everything from chicken, beef, veal, lamb, mutton, goat and more.

In late summer of 1986, Mr. Mohamad came to Canada from Egypt with only a few hundred dollars in his pocket. Full of ambition and eager for success , Mr. Ahmedy found work the very next day. His attitude and his hard work ethic was particularly noticed by his employers as many were keen to keep him under their employment.
